Sweet Valentines' Day Treats | DIY Candy Bouquet and More!

HAPPY FEBRUARY #simplelifesociety! January felt like an eternity, so I'm excited to start a new month. I usually keep it relatively low-key for Valentines' day, but I just had to share some of my favorite sweet treats I like to make around this time of year. Because 'tis the season for chocolate-dipped everything!

I shared this video tutorial a few years ago, but it's a classic and all-time favorite in my house. These sweet treats required very minimal ingredients, and are very kid-friendly to make. Actually, I highly suggest you get your kids and family involved!

You can give these to friends, family, co-workers, kids' classmates. To be safe and considerate, wrap them individually in cellophane before handing them out. In the video, I group the pretzel sticks and the marshmallows to create a bouquet. You can also separate the two treats to make bundles on their own.

♡ CHOCOLATE DIPPED PRETZEL STICKS ♡

What You'll Need:

1. Melt the chocolate chips (either white or milk chocolate, or both!) in a double boiler. Do NOT heat chocolate directly in sauce pan. It can burn easily! Boil water and place a heat-safe bowl on top to melt the chocolate and stir. 2. Lay pretzel rods on parchment paper, giving adequate room between each. Use a spoon to scoop the chocolate, and spread it on the pretzel rod. Give it a generous coating, you can even swirl it around the rod to give it a cool look.

3. Sprinkle time! Add sprinkles before the chocolate sets. I chose a fun pink and white and chocolate sprinkles. (This was my daughter's favorite part!) Have fun with it. I loved how the sprinkles popped against the white chocolate.

4. Lay pretzel rods on parchment paper and set in the fridge.

5. Remove carefully when the chocolate has hardened, and arrange in cellophane to create a "candy bouquet." Personalize with a gift tag!

♡ MARSHMALLOW BITES ♡

What You'll Need:

1. Follow the same chocolate melting method.

2. Carefully place marshmallows on a lollipop stick or plastic fork.

3. Dip into chocolate! 4. Add sprinkles and place onto parchment paper to set.

5. Place in fridge to set.

6. Remove carefully and arrange into bouquet or wrap individually (like a cake pop). Personalize with a gift tag!

♡ HEART SHAPED BROWNIES ♡

What You'll Need:

Silicone Heart Molds http://amzn.to/2EmoKia

Fudge Brownie Mix http://amzn.to/2sePSLa

1. Follow the box cake directions. (Of course, you could make this from scratch also!) But I'm a semi-homemade type of cook, if that means saving me some time (and dishes!).

2. Pour cake mix into oiled silicone heart mold. 3. Bake in oven per box cake directions.

4. Let cool and carefully remove.

You could also choose to frost these brownies (and add more sprinkles, because why not?). These are so fun and a great travel-size sweet treat. If I got a box full of heart-shaped mini brownies I'd be so happy! Let me know if you try any of these out! I know these are SO simple, which is why you're more likely to make them. Get yourself some cute sprinkles, and get to melting some chocolate.
